What better way to kick off the new year than with a fresh new single and video to go with it? That’s exactly what The Mowgli’s, an indie-pop band from Los Angeles, decided to do with their new single “Wasting Time.”
Most of us were first introduced to The Mowgli’s back in 2013 when their song, “San Francisco,” became an infectious hit. A lot has happened since then, including three albums and two EPs from the upbeat 5-piece band. Since learning to deal with the many challenges that come with nonstop touring and recording, The Mowgli’s have big plans to take 2020 by storm.
Their new single, “Wasting Time,” outlines the daily struggles many face when they fall into a seemingly endless unfulfilling cycle. Although it’s not the happiest subject, the band uses their signature indie-pop sound to keep the idea moving forward, almost as if their synths and driving rhythm are being used to help break the cycle. The music video focuses on a woman who is battling the seemingly endless loop mentioned above as the result of a breakup with her girlfriend. The video wraps up with her breaking from the cycle and pushing herself forward into new beginnings. It’s a simple, yet catchy tune that remains true to The Mowgli’s sound.
The Mowgli’s kick off their UK tour this week on January 14th in Leeds and wrap up on January 24th in Liverpool. You can find out more on their website here!
